Thanksgiving Dinner With Donald Trump

I’ll never forget Thanksgiving 2013.

I was busy writing my first book, The Trump Factor: Unlocking the Secrets of the Trump Empire. This was, of course, back when Donald Trump was “just” a billionaire, real estate mogul, and reality TV personality. There was no presidency in sight.

This certainly made my authorial job easier, since a large part of it involved conducting “boots on the ground” interviews with him. I didn’t want to miss a detail in my coverage and subsequent evaluation of Trump’s properties. And that kind of access would have been a lot more difficult with Secret Service personnel and layers of political aides to get through.

That’s how I’d already gotten to visit Mar-a-Lago several times before November 2013. And so I decided to give my family a proper tour of the place as part of our Florida stay.

We were actually staying at Doral, another one of Trump’s prestigious assets. But we drove over on Thanksgiving day to have lunch at Mar-a-Lago’s outdoor patio.

Perhaps it wasn’t the wisest setting to bring young children. Or maybe it was considering how everything turned out.

Regardless, my youngest daughter, AJ – still in kindergarten – accidentally dropped a plate. Everyone turned to stare, which was pretty embarrassing for several seconds…

Until Donald Trump himself walked over to say hello and meet my family. It’s something that wouldn’t have happened without my kiddo’s “oopsie” calling so much attention to us.

Better still, shortly after Trump walked away, one of his employees came over to relay a message: Would we like to dine with him at the club that evening?

Our answer was an easy yes, and the experience was unforgettable for the entire family… even my fortuitous kindergartner. Though, looking back, it seems even more momentous.

How could we have known we were having Thanksgiving dinner with a future president of the United States?

I still have to hand it to AJ today. She gave us so many more reasons to be grateful that year.

Another Reason to Be Thankful: Cutting Corporate Taxes Can Actually Benefit Us All

Eleven years later, I have several new entries on my thankful list. And yes, former President Trump, waiting to become current President Trump, is one of them.

A big one, actually. Outright huge!

Considering all Trump is set to accomplish, I’m absolutely confident his historic comeback should be on all of our lists.

I know my entire team at Wide Moat Research is extremely bullish about his return. Trump’s multi-pronged economic plans are just too big and bold not to have MAGA effects we can all benefit from.

Take his pledge to reduce corporate income tax rates from 21% to 15% for U.S. companies that produce domestically.

The media is busy labeling tariffs an inflationary “tax” on consumers. (We’ll get to that shortly.) But how are higher taxes on corporations any different?

Those businesses just pass the cost right on to customers.

Plus, encouraging domestic production means more jobs for Americans. Construction jobs. Management jobs. White-collar jobs. Factory positions.

And lots of them.

Which, incidentally, means more tax revenue for the government, not less.

Trump also wants to make his previous Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provisions permanent parts of the U.S. tax code… eliminate taxes on tips for restaurant and hospitality workers… and eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits and overtime.

That will give people more money to spend on discretionary purchases, especially of the U.S. variety. Which will mean a surge in corporate profits. Which will mean more capital to investors in the form of higher share prices and bigger dividends.

In other words, Trump is looking to achieve a snowball effect on the economy: a positive cycle that just keeps fueling itself.

The Golden Age of America

The reason why I set out to write that Trump Factor book over a decade ago – and therefore the reason why I got to dine at Mar-a-Lago – is simple.

I’ve had a lot of mentors in my life, and Donald J. Trump was one of them. His Art of the Deal taught me so much about how to be a successful real estate developer and investor.

And when my life savings and effort crashed around me in 2008, his “comeback” stories inspired my own.

Considering what he’s done and who he is – as I learned firsthand through face-to-face interviews with him and then by working on his 2016 campaign – I truly believe that President Trump will do everything he can to deliver on his promises of value and wealth creation.

The man who showed us both the art of the deal and the art of the comeback will now show us how to claim our national legacy of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Decades of “America last” policies have shipped middle-class jobs overseas, given away too many remaining positions to illegal immigrants, and created an enormous national debt in the process. But that’s all about to change.

Get ready to see a truly golden age for America begin.

If that isn’t something to be thankful for, I don’t know what is.
